Slovenia Set to Introduce Digital Nomad Visa in November 2025
Applications for Slovenia’s Digital Nomad Visa, launching later this year, will be open to all non-EU/EEA citizens. Successful applicants will be granted the right to reside in Slovenia for up to one year, according to Travel Tomorrow.
A key requirement for obtaining this visa is proof of employment with a foreign company or clients outside Slovenia. Those who fail to meet this condition risk refusal of their application and potential restrictions on future entry to Slovenia.
Visa holders will have the opportunity to bring family members with them, provided those accompanying do not work within Slovenia. Additionally, applicants must demonstrate sufficient financial resources to support both themselves and any family members. The specific income threshold has yet to be announced by the authorities.
The digital nomad visa will be valid for 12 months and cannot be renewed consecutively. Those wishing to extend their stay must leave Slovenia for at least six months before submitting a new application.
By introducing this program, Slovenia aims to attract skilled remote workers and boost its profile as a long-term tourism and talent hub. The country is known for its affordable cost of living compared to many other EU members.
Ljubljana, with its dynamic nightlife and numerous co-working spaces, offers a vibrant environment for digital nomads, while cities such as Celje, Maribor, Kranj, and Koper provide quieter, family-friendly alternatives.
